Books by Fictional Characters Now Outselling Yours

What was once just Mcfarlane style references in the form of journals is now officially a thing. The titular character from the CW network’s Jane the Virgin wrote, on her show mind you, a romance novel. This novel is now available for sale in the real world.

We’re through the looking glass people. Caridad Piñeiro, the romance writer who actually wrote it, it quoted on the back: “Jane’s novel is so much fun I wish I’d written it myself!”

This is no surprise from a licence-to-print-money franchise like Harry Potter, but TV is now a vehicle to promote real fictional books of fiction to a real audience with fake interest. I’ll let the editor figure out if that’s right.
